After Your Tattoo Session

Congratulations on your new tattoo! Now that the exciting part is done, let’s ensure your tattoo heals properly, ensuring it settles in solid and looks fantastic for years to come.

Approximately two hours after your tattoo session, it’s time to remove the wrap and give your tattoo its first wash.

Start by washing your hands thoroughly, followed by gently cleansing your new tattoo with liquid antibacterial soap. Be sure to remove all plasma (slime) from the tattooed area. Rinse your tattoo under running water, taking care not to let the water linger on the fresh tattoo for too long. Pat it dry with paper towels (avoid using bath towels, as they can harbor bacteria and increase the risk of infection).

Once your tattoo is dry, re-wrap it using a clean roll of wrap dedicated solely for your tattoos. If you experience any adverse reactions such as a rash or bumps due to the wrap, discontinue its use immediately and proceed to the next step.

Repeat this cleansing and re-wrapping process 3-4 times a day for the next three days.

On the third day, remove the wrap, clean your tattoo as usual, and instead of re-wrapping, apply a very thin layer of tattoo aftercare ointment.

Continue applying the ointment 2-3 times a day until your tattoo is completely healed.

Remember, avoid swimming or sunbathing as these activities can damage your new tattoo. Refrain from touching your healing tattoo unless washing it with clean hands. While showering, try to keep your tattoo as dry as possible, using paper towels to gently pat it dry. Keep in mind that your new tattoo is an open wound, so maintaining cleanliness and preventing debris from entering is crucial to avoid infection.
